When we get it wrong.
KnowCivics will make mistakes. When it does, we want to hear about it, fix it and say so.
How to report an error
Under each answer, select “Report an error.” Tell us what’s wrong and, if you can, link a better source. We automatically include the question, the answer and the sources it cited, so you don’t need to copy them. Add your email if you’d like a reply.
You can also email hello@knowcivics.org. Include the question, what was wrong and roughly when you asked.
What happens next
- We read every report.
- We check the claim against the primary source.
- If the answer was wrong, we promptly fix the cause, such as a source, a data lookup or the instructions the AI model follows.
- If you left an email, we tell you what we found.
Sometimes the answer was right, or the question is one where people reasonably disagree. Then we leave it as it is and, if you left an email, tell you why.
No silent changes
Answers are written fresh for each question, so there is no single page to edit. When we confirm an error, we list it below with the date, what was wrong and what we changed. If we drop or replace a source, we note that too.
